Meet Kathy

How long have you been coming to Lagree MT?

I believe my first class at Lagree MT was back in June. I’ve just completed my first 50 - now 51 :) [editors note: now 60!] - classes, and in all those workouts, no injury, just a lot of hard work! It’s a very valuable 45 minutes of my day.

Why do you choose Lagree MT over another workout?

Workouts are a discipline. When you can’t find one that suits you, it makes it difficult at best to stay motivated. In my season of life -senior citizen status- I needed something safe that would strengthen my core to protect my low back and help me with balance and flexibility. “Normal” gyms just weren’t cutting it. I was struggling to find my fitness niche here. One of my daughter’s co-workers recommended Lagree MT. I gave it a shot. I was sold from day one. It was honestly an answer to prayer. The emphasis on form and slow movement protects me from injury. The staff are always helpful and on task, watching out for our safety while challenging us to do more. That’s invaluable to me. It’s like having a personal trainer. I LOVE THAT PART! The atmosphere at Lagree MT is positive and welcoming. I’ve met some great people too.

What is your favorite Lagree move?

My favorite LAGREE moves are lunges. All of them! Probably because they are the moves, I feel most competent doing and I’m able to push myself more. The usual lunges have always been “out” for me because they hurt my knees. I haven’t had that problem on the MEGA. Not a twinge of knee pain. I can do lunges now and reap the benefits without fear of injury, in fact, just the opposite. I think as the muscles in my legs have gotten stronger, my knee joints are more stable and protected. I’m not a PT but it makes sense in my head. They are great for my balance too. I’m finally starting to try letting go of the balance pole now and again.

How has Lagree MT made a positive impact on your life?

Being active and strong has always been important to me, even more so as I’ve gotten older. Lagree MT helps me physically, but also mentally and emotionally. When I’m consistently working out, and seeing the results, I feel so much better about myself and life in general. All those endorphins! It feeds my soul. It also reminds me that “I can do hard things”. We can all do hard things and it’s important that we remember that as it helps us in EVERY area of life.

Fun Fact

I’m new to Montana just 1.5 years here. I have two beautiful daughters and two hard working, caring sons-in-law, who have given me 4 beautiful grandchildren. I’m blessed that we all live within 2 miles of each other and all worship together at the same church. I love the seasons most here. We didn’t have those where I came from. FALL is my favorite so far.
