Client Spotlight: Sarah Sriraman
From nervous first-timer to devoted 7 a.m. regular, Sarah’s spent three years building strength, confidence, and consistency through Lagree. After two major knee surgeries, she's proof that low-impact doesn't mean low-intensity—and that lasting results come from finding a routine you love.
Meet Sarah
How did you find Lagree MT?
I found Lagree MT in 2023 when a friend invited me to take a class with her. Funnily enough, she didn’t end up getting into the class, so I had to go by myself! I was super nervous and had never done a workout like it before. I had bought the three class intro pack, and after my third class, I immediately signed up for a membership. I was hooked!
What is your favorite Lagree move?
Runner’s lunge! I can always find my shake in this move, and I love when a tiny adjustment from Steven or Dan somehow makes it ten times harder.
What's your Why? (Why do you workout and keep coming back for more?)
My job can be pretty demanding, so I love taking some time for myself by starting my day with a workout. I usually take the 7 a.m. class, and I love having that time to focus on something completely different and challenge myself before the day really gets going. I always feel better afterward, and it sets me up for a good day. I also love feeling stronger and seeing the changes in my body since I started Lagree. Both the mental and physical benefits keep me coming back.
How has Lagree MT made a positive impact on your life?
I’ve never felt as strong through my core as I do now, and I notice that strength and stability in the things I love doing outside the studio, especially hiking. I’m also really proud of the consistency I’ve built. I’ve been coming to Lagree for three years now, and I’ve never stuck with another workout for this long.
Why do you choose Lagree MT over another workout?
One of the biggest reasons is that Lagree is high intensity while still being low impact. In 2022, I had a rare, aggressive but noncancerous bone tumor called a giant cell tumor in my right knee. It caused significant damage, so I had a major surgery to remove the tumor and repair my knee, followed by meniscus surgery the next year. My knee has never quite been the same, and I still deal with some pain and limitations because of it.
Lagree gives me a way to challenge myself and build strength without the impact that comes with a lot of other intense workouts. I can modify when I need to, but I can still push myself really hard, which is something I really value.
You’ve really dialed it in lately, and your results have been incredible! What have you been doing differently, and what have you learned along the way?
Over the last few months, I’ve been much more intentional and mindful about what and how much I eat. I lost about 14 pounds in two months, but more importantly, I worked on changing my habits around food rather than following a super restrictive diet. I tracked what I ate, paid more attention to portions, and became much more aware of the choices I was making.
The biggest thing I’ve learned is that I don’t have to eat perfectly to reach my goals. I can still eat the foods I love. It’s about moderation, balance, and making choices I can actually maintain long term.
Fun Fact
I’m a second generation American. My mom is from Germany and my dad is from India. I grew up traveling to Germany pretty regularly and have also been lucky enough to visit India a few times. Growing up with both cultures has shaped a lot of who I am, from my love of travel to my appreciation for really good food!
