Meet Audrey
How did you find Lagree MT?
I found Lagree in 2022 because I used to work at Draught Works and my coworkers couldn't stop raving about what a good workout it was! I figured I'd give it a try since it was right next door.
How has Lagree MT made a positive impact on your life?
Lagree has supported my overall balance and core strength which has taken my love of trail running to new heights (and distances). I used to get running related injuries once or twice a year that would knock me out for months. Every physical therapist I saw encouraged me to do more to strength and core work. Since starting Lagree, I have been running injury free and have noticed much better form, increased stamina, and faster recovery. I also love the community at Lagree.
What is your favorite Lagree move?
I love a good Runner's Lunge. It feels so satisfying to find those shakes and stay in them!
What's your Why? (Why do you workout and keep coming back for more?)
I workout and continue to come back because it supports my wellbeing both physically and mentally as a mother, teacher, and human. Taking care of my body with exercise is my favorite form of self care. It helps me to better show up for the people in my life.
Why do you choose Lagree MT over another workout?
I choose Lagree because it is a very unique workout that targets my core and stabilizers with no impact. The slow, slow pace allows me to work on form and awareness of my body mechanics. Even after 300+ classes, I find new awareness in my body and challenges to work through every time.
How did you enjoy staying active with us during your pregnancy, and what was your experience like returning to workouts postpartum?
I loved coming to Lagree while pregnant! It is such a low impact activity that gave me the endorphin high I craved, especially after running became uncomfortable. I also think it actually helped mentally prepare me for labor. Lagree pushes us to sit in and breathe through discomfort for 60-90 second intervals and, while an entirely different experience, I thought of it during my contractions.
Coming back to Lagree postpartum has been such a humbling gift. Initially I felt like I was starting from scratch, literally reconnecting with and rebuilding my core. I'm so appreciative for the support from the coaches. The gradual progress and the ways I notice it in my day to day with my daughter have been so rewarding and I feel the strongest I've ever felt.
Fun Fact
My husband and I are big fans of Type 2 fun! Our vacations are typically adventures like through hikes or bike tours. I've walked the Pacific Northwest Trail, Camino de Santiago, and Tahoe Rim Trail, and biked the Carretera Austral for my honeymoon!
